Hluboká castle - 5th of May

On Wednesday afternoon we left the Poněsice camp to go to Hluboká castle, a beautiful castle built in the fourteenth century. This castle belonged to the Schwarzenberg family until the second world war. The first part of the castle was a dunjeon and then during the "renaissance" the other part of the castle was built with the baroque style, and the last part was built in the new gothic style. That's what made this building exceptional. We visited Eleanor Schwarzenberg's bedroom, the library composed of 12000 books, the weapon room, the corridors etc. During the visit, the teachers sometimes told us sentences with number 5 and we had to write them down. It was very interesting to discover the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic.

Mercredi 5 mai 2010 nous nous sommes rendus au château de Hluboká , un magnifique château
construit au 14eme siècle. Ce fut une formidable expérience qui nous a permis de découvrir une partie du patrimoine tchèque. Ce château appartenait à la famille Schwarzenberg qui y était installée jusque la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les principaux styles architecturaux présents dans le château sont le style gothique, néogothique et le style baroque. Nous avons fait la visite des lieux, et observé différentes pièces : la chambre d´Eleanor Schwarzenberg, son vestiaire, les salons, les couloirs menant aux chambres, la salle d´armes,etc. C´est un lieu dont nous nous rappellerons pendant encore longtemps et qui prouve la richesse culturelle de la République Tchèque.
